KIMARA AHNERT

Following several years as a make-up artist and consultant, KIMARA AHNERT created her own line of professional make-up, brushes and skin care products which are available exclusively at her studio on Madison and 84th Street. Eschewing the more common setting found at a department store cosmetic counter, Kimara’s approach is evidenced everywhere – from the French décor of Aubusson rugs and pillows tossed on Louis XVI chairs and settees, to the state-of-the-art facial facilities, to the intimate cosmetic counters where experts work one-on-one with clients.

One of the unique innovations that Kimara has introduced is the CAMOUFLAGE KIT. Because, while cosmetic treatments such as laser resurfacing and face-lifts, can have a very positive change on people’s lives, the trauma to a patient’s skin following surgery or treatment, and before the final changes are visible, requires special care and attention.

Recognizing this unfilled niche in the cosmetic industry while working with some of New York’s top plastic surgeons, makeup artist KIMARA AHNERT designed the CAMOUFLAGE KIT – a personalized makeup kit filled with the essentials for taking care of skin following surgery and cosmetic facial treatments.

And, in response to requests from clients who travel frequently, often with little advance warning, make-up artist Kimara Ahnert has created a BEAUTY-TO-GO travel clutch featuring 10 essential skin care and make-up products that make it easy for women to maintain their daily beauty regimen, while away from home.

As opposed to following, or fitting into, current trends, Kimara’s overall philosophy focuses on determining skincare regimes and cosmetic palettes that best suit each face. And, to ensure that clients can maintain the look on their own, education about the products and their use is also a priority.

Hailed as the "Best Makeover" in New York by NEW YORK MAGAZINE, and featured in publications, such as Elle, Vogue, Town & Country, Self, and the New York Times, Kimara’s clients include Brooke Shields, Vendela, Isabella Rosselini, Tipper Gore, and a host of other well known celebrities, models, and top corporate executives.

In addition, Kimara Ahnert products are featured exclusively in the spa at the new Bernardus Lodge, a luxury resort located in Carmel Valley, California.

KIMARA AHNERT is located at 1113 Madison Avenue, New York City, (212) 452-4252. or toll free at 800-452-9802. Or, you can shop on-line at www.kimaraahnert.com

TRAVEL BUSINESS ROUNDTABLE

Launched in 1995, the Travel Business Roundtable (TBR) is a coalition of CEOs representing the leading travel-related companies, and other industry suppliers. In addition to airlines, hotels, rental car companies, and travel management companies, TBR’s roster also includes important members such as Coca-Cola, USA Today, and the International Council of Shopping Centers.

The chief mission of the TBR to educate elected officials on all levels of the important contributions travel and tourism makes to the nation’s economy. To that end, TBR has been particularly effective in this area through the active participation of its members in the Capitol Hill Day Program. Through this initiative, TBR members have visited more than 60 Senators and 250 members of the House to discuss the impact travel and tourism has on the nation’s economy, as well as that of their own constituency.

To demonstrate that impact, TBR launched the TBR Index of Leading Economic Indicators in July 1997. This monthly index is the first single performance indicator to describe the aggregate impact the industry has on the national economy.

As the nation’s third largest retail industry, and its second largest employer, travel and tourism is projected to be the world’s largest industry by the year 2000.

CAROLE HOCHMAN DESIGNS

The genesis for the Carole Hochman collection began when Carole realized that she never slept in any of the fancy lingerie that she was designing. Like many other women, Carole thought of her sleepwear options as either sexy negligees, or her husband’s more inviting cotton t-shirt.

Consistent with the trend towards comfort -- whether it’s food, or clothes -- as well as the increased desire to spend more time at home, Carole has been a the forefront of the evolution towards providing women with comfortable, fashionable sleepwear that transcends what they actually wear to bed.

"With people spending a lot more time and effort into making their homes, and their bedrooms, in particular, feel and look comfortable with things such as great linens, scented candles and fresh flowers, the clothes you wear should be equally as important, " says Carole "And, with most women changing their clothes within five minutes of walking through the door when they get home, there is an even greater need to have things to wear that both look good and feel good."

As a designer and entrepreneur, Carole has been well recognized as a leader in the trend towards comfortable and fashionable sleepwear. In addition to the branded collection, Carole is also the creative force behind several private label programs, and as the licensee for the lingerie collection of Oscar de la Renta. Most recently, Carole Hochman Designs announced a joint venture with Sara Lee, Corp. to design a sleepwear collection for "Hanes Her Way."
